Are getting ever more sophisticated, but with a little care you can fight back
A GROWING number of people are reporting credit card fraud that not only has no boundaries, but little hope of detestion.
For example, a prominent expatriate based here in Thailand was recently shocked to discover a discrepency of some 5,000 euros on his credit card, especially as the money had been spent on goods in New Zealand - a country he's never visited.
Based on the assumpion that somenoe had taken an illegal copy of the card, he traced back to the last time he had used it , which was weeks earlier, only to discover that it was a payment for two airline tickets at the Bangkok office of a well known international carrier. This, he believes, is the only place where some kind of fraudulent copy had been made.
